Renamed the Ohio Players, the group signed to Capitol Records in Los Angeles in the mid '60s. In addition, it was the third album from the band to top the Soul/Black Albums chart where it spent three weeks.

This formula proved successful as the single cracked the Top Ten at number nine inside of 18 weeks. It was also the last Top Ten single for the Dayton, Ohio funk aggregate.
